In 2009 Dan Canham made a short dance film in the rotting, dilapidated premises of the old Theatre Royal in Limerick, Ireland, called 30 Cecil Street. Using that film as source material, this brand new piece of dance-theatre sees a lone figure stream through fragments of memories in a series of poignant and evocative dances. With an original soundtrack made up of interviews and found sounds, this poetic and moving piece looks at the life of a once-mighty building with a history that stretches back over 150 years. What is left when a theatre closes its doors to the public?
